Editorial Standards & Corrections

Our reporting commitments

The Streamline aims to publish accurate, useful and clearly sourced coverage of hip-hop, entertainment, sports, business and community issues.

Verification

We distinguish confirmed facts from allegations, commentary, rumors and developing information. Whenever practical, we prioritize official records, direct statements and primary sources, then use reputable secondary reporting for context.

Attribution and media

We credit sources and link readers to original reporting. Photographs, video and audio are used through original creation, permission, licensing, authorized embeds or clear links. We do not knowingly present copyrighted material as our own.

Corrections and updates

When a material fact is wrong, we correct it promptly and add context when the correction changes the meaning of a story. Developing stories may be updated as verified information becomes available.

Allegations and legal coverage

Criminal charges and civil claims are allegations unless proven in court. People accused of crimes are presumed innocent unless convicted. Headlines and summaries should not convert an allegation into a statement of fact.

Opinion, sponsorship and submissions

Opinion and analysis are framed as such. Sponsorship, advertising or payment for promotional consideration does not guarantee positive coverage and should be disclosed when relevant. Editorial decisions remain separate from advertiser demands.

Corrections

Readers may submit correction requests through the publication’s official contact, advertising or submission channels. Include the article title, disputed statement and supporting source.
